The holidays are my favorite time of year - lots of parties and celebrations, sparkling holiday displays, and meaningful moments with family.  Added bonus this year: SoulShine Designs' first holiday season! If you're only vaguely familiar with Belleville, Illinois, you might have heard of pumpkin-picking mecca Eckert's Farm, but right down the road is an equally charming, outdoorsy venue, centered around my favorite produce: wine!  The Weingarten in Belleville was the setting of a fabulous Yoga Buzz event, to which I was invited to set up a jewelry trunk show.  Think Adirondack chairs on the banks of a picturesque pond, surrounded by farm fields.  A fire pit for chilly fall nights, just steps from a charming old graveyard visible through a splintered wood fence.   The sun was setting behind the...

As the owner of two rescue cats from the Animal Protective Association (APA) of Missouri, I decided it would be fun to create some designs with adorable cat charms I found after hours (literally) of looking for the perfect ones.   Then it occurred to me that I could make a positive impact on shelter animals, while giving people a joyful reminder of their pets, through fun and meaningful bracelets they can wear whenever, wherever.  So the Shelter Pet collection is now expanded to include paw prints and dog charms.  Like my other designs, these are also made with gemstones...

Having the opportunity to positively impact people with my meaningful jewelry designs is truly the best feeling! Loved teaming up with Yoga Buzz to share my designs at this wonderful event, which included a rooftop yoga class overlooking the St. Louis skyline, followed by pizza from Pi (with vegan options, of course!) and sipping on beverages while browsing the works of local artists.  I was the only jewelry designer featured, and was so inspired by the other artists, who used creative textures and media in yoga-themed art.  If you've not familiar with Yoga Buzz, check them out! Had so much fun sharing my summer & pre-fall collections at Yoga Six - Des Peres.  It's such a beautiful studio and amazing group of people! Many went home with quite a few inspiring SoulShine bracelets, from a pregnant mom (SoulShine's Buddha & Unakite bracelet was perfect for her, since Unakite is known as a fertility stone), to another woman going through a rough time, who really needed the stress relieving properties of white Howlite.   Can't wait to return for another trunk show--hopefully around the holiday season! I've been in gift giving mode lately and there's truly nothing better.
